Horler pictures part two
Pictures of people and places associated with the Horler branch of my family. Also see Talbot pictures for some common pictures.

The Cross, Croscombe
The is the ancient stone cross in the centre of the village. My great great grandmother Harriet Say 'fought' alongside other villagers in the 1870's when way- wardens came to destroy it. The villagers were successful although the cross was damaged. When it was rebuilt in later years a bottle was laid in the foundations which contained the names of the ringleaders of the battle of which Harriet was one.

Mampitts Road, Shaftesbury
This is the bungalow where we lived at Mampitts Road between 1983/4 and 1989. My mother was the school caretaker of the Shaftesbury First School and this abode was attached to the job. I believe the building is now privately owned and I've heard recently that it's due to be demolished.
