Risk of identity theft
I have just discovered that online
security fraudsters can get personal
information from sites like these and
from dates and place of birth and full
names can seek to defraud people and
banks. I have therefore altered all the
family trees which are posted online
and have removed the full names, places
and dates of birth of any living
relatives.
The only detailed information is about
deceased persons in the ancestral line.
It is a shame that the actions of these
sorts of people has affects a perfectly
innocent pursuit like this website but
better to be safe than sorry for both
myself and living relatives.
