The grave to the left foreground of this photo with the arch top is that of Francis Rogers (died 1903) and Emily Jane Hiscock (died 1923) at St Laurence Church. The churchyard is not far from their farm which they had in the late 19th century. Rookery Farm, Farnham
This is Rookery Farm which was worked by Francis Rogers Hiscock in the late 19th century. It where my great grandfather, Robert Hiscock, was born and raised. The old farm building is seen behind the more modern barns. Francis was also involved in the timber trade at the time as was ideal based near Farnham woods in the Chase.

My grandmother and children

Clockwise from the bottom left is - Pauline, Graham, Raymond, Celia, Alex, unknown girl (possibly Maureen or Sandra), my dad Rodney, unknown boy (although we think we know who it is) and the small child on nan's lap is Nigel.

Hiscock grave, East Stour, Dorset
This grave is that of Edwin (died 1889) and Anne Hiscock (died 1880). It is to the right side of the churchyard as you enter the main gate. The plinth behind this grave and just visible in this photo is the memorial of William Hiscock, Edwin's brother (died 1837).

|
Gray family grave, East Stour
To the centre left in light brown is the memorial to Hannh Gray (died 1841), Francis Rogers Gray (died 1866)and their son Nicholas (who was buried in Tisbury and died 1829). Their daughter was Anne Gray who married Edwin Hiscock. The memorial is now hard to read and is not marking the grave any more. However the splendour of the tombstone is, I think, evidence to quite a family that was doing quite well in these difficult times for small farmers.
