2005 Childrens Centres

As part of a national government policy, the County Council plan to set up 20 Children's Centres in Wiltshire by 2008. The locations will be based on Indices of Deprivation, and input from local community groups.

Each Children's Centre is to be 'the hub of a community’, offering services such as family support, parental outreach, a base for childminders, a service hub for parents and providers of childcare services; and effective links with pre-school provision and out- of-school clubs. There is funding available for these services.

Two Children’s Centres are planned for Salisbury, one in Bemerton Heath, and one in St Martins.
