Work

Work - you may have had a period of sick leave if your sight or hearing has suddenly deteriorated.

You may want to return to work gradually as you are unsure of your capabilities.

Occupational health and the Personnel Department should be able to arrange a Phased Return to Work. This is where you work fewer hours initially. As your confidence grows and any aids etc are implemented you can return to your usual hours.

A Phased Return to Work can work in two ways.

Either - you work fewer hours and get paid at a reduced rate accordingly. However, you are NOT accumulating any sick time.

Or - you work a reduced number of hours, get paid your usual pay BUT are accumulating full time sick leave ie. you have 6 months before you go onto half pay.
