THE JUNIOR SCHOOL NATURE STUDY DAY

Image 1 for THE JUNIOR SCHOOL NATURE STUDY DAY Pupils from the local Junior School had a Nature Day on Harnham Slope in the Autumn of 2013. The purpose was to undertake a nature walk around Harnham Slope and to discover something of the surroundings that the youngsters have on their doorstep. The school staff invited FOHS supporters to help in introducing the children to the animals, birds and plants that abound on the Slope, and to help them compare the differences between the City and the Countryside. As is so important nowadays, we have to be very careful about putting images of children onto websites such as this, but we are very grateful to the Parents of the children featured in the 2 images for giving their permission to publish. This image shows 2 of the FOHS team chatting to the children in their classroom prior to their walkabout.

Above are 2 of the FOHS Team explaining the wonders of Nature. FOHS was glad to help out on this occasion, and hope that as the children grow up they will continue to develop their interest in the world about them.
