BLUEBELLS EIGHT MONTHS ON

After rather dismal Spring weather at the start of 2012, the bluebells which FOHS planted at the end of 2011 have survived and are beginning to look good. The weeds and nettles will need some attention soon if they are not to swamp the bluebells, but it is cheering to see that the new planting has made a good start in the first 8 months and over the coming years should go from strength to strength as the plants self-multiply. If you have the chance, do go and have a look - pictures cannot really do justice to the view in Nature. Depending on the weather, bluebells are usually to be seen from about late April to early June. If you cannot get to the Slope in person, click on any of the following images to enlarge it.
