WHAT's ON – February 2012

Wed 15th Feb at 10am – VOLUNTEER COPPICING EVENT. Meet at RSPB Manor Farm Yard, Newton Tony, SP4 0HA, at 10am. We will be coppicing a section of the new woodland plantation. This will add structural diversity and wildlife value for butterflies and birds. All tools, gloves and training provided, just bring suitable clothing and footwear. In the bleak days of the Cold War, espionage veteran George Smiley is forced from semi-retirement to uncover a Soviet agent within MI6's echelons. WHAT's ON – March 2012

Fri 2nd Mar – WOMEN'S WORLD DAY OF PRAYER service in St Michael's Church, Winterbourne Earls SP4 6HA. The theme this year is LET JUSTICE PREVAIL and the resources have been prepared by Christian women in Malaysia. Everyone is welcome (including Men!) Contact Maureen on 01980 611172.

Fri 30th Mar from 7.30pm BOURNE FOLK continue with their monthly session - this time featuring RICHARD DIGANCE at Boscombe Social Club, Boscombe Village, SP4 0AB.

Richard, who lives locally, has agreed to do a special one-off appearance in order to help support the continuation of Bourne Folk. We are very grateful to Richard for this and we anticipate a large demand for tickets. The Boscombe Village Club have agreed to extend the room but numbers will be strictly limited and tickets sold on a first-come-first served basis.
They will be available for sale at the January and February club nights and you are strongly advised to get them while you can as we may have to turn people away at the door on the night. This promises to be a very special evening with Richard appearing in such an intimate surrounding, so if you don’t want to be disappointed, buy your tickets early. This follows on from Winterbourne Opera's successful Italian and French Suppers, both of which have been sell- outs. You can look forward to famous British composers like Elgar and Parry, folk songs, comic turns, rousing patriotic songs and a fun "Last-of-the- Proms" style finale – all with British Food.
