FEBRUARY 2012 REPORT from the Group Scout Leader A big THANK YOU to all our readers who supported the Scout Post, especially those who sold stamps for us and delivered cards.
In the run up to Christmas, we had a really good Lantern making workshop, such a pity that the parade had to be cancelled due to the inclement weather forecast which didn’t materialise in the end, so none us got to carry our lanterns, in fact they are still in my shed waiting to be disposed of!
Ian Jack, Scout Leader of Idmiston Troop, returned safely from Afghanistan in time for his troops’ Christmas Party and the Group Christmas Party. Welcome Home Ian, you were missed!
Each of the other sections had a Christmas party, with lots of fun and games. The last event of the term was a Group party, members from each section
and their families spent a fun filled evening decorating Christmas trees with homemade decorations and eating and drinking festive fare.
