April 2011 Park and Ride

There is no truth in the recent press stories that Park and Ride is doomed!

Your council has worked hard to keep the price for individuals the same at £2.50 and simultaneously reduce the annual deficit on P&R from £1.3m to £500K.

We have:

  • Introduced modern low emission buses to reduce pollution in the city centre
  • Set attractive prices to encourage visitors and commuters to use Park & Ride instead of driving into the city centre
  • Increased opening times to enable people using P&R to stay in the city later at night.

Park and Ride is strategically important to Salisbury and we are doing all we can to maximise the benefit to the city.
