November 2010 Impacting the Community

One of the joys of being a councillor is the opportunity to ‘have a place at the table’ outside the council itself, helping to make decisions which can have a big impact on the local community.

I currently serve as a member of the Vision for Salisbury Board, Diocesan Board of Education, Ridgeway Housing Association, Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education, and as an observer on the City Centre Management Partnership, Salisbury Women’s Refuge and the Salisbury International Arts Festival.

Within the council, as well as chairing the Salisbury Area Board, I am a member of the Southern Planning Committee and the Children’s Services Select Committee. I have recently joined a special task group looking at 16-19 education in and around Salisbury.

I am also a governor of St Mark’s Junior School.
