Are you interested in voluntary work in Salisbury? Volunteers are always welcome to work on Salisbury's Harnham Slope. "Harnham Slope" as it is known is the north facing escarpment of the area located on the southern outskirts of the city of Salisbury known as Harnham Hill. It is one of the very few wooded areas of the city and offers an escape to the countryside on the doorstep of a city. The area is criss-crossed by footpaths and offers some superb views of the cathedral.

The Friends of Harnham Slope is a group of part time volunteers which was formed in the summer of 2002 in response to community concerns about the future of that part of Harnham Hill known locally as Harnham Slope. Supporters continue to work together to promote community interest and involvement in the care, maintenance and management of Harnham Slope, which will increase public enjoyment of the area and enhance its value for wildlife for the benefit of present and future generations. The Friends of Harnham Slope (usually abbreviated to FOHS and pronounced “foes”) work in close co- operation with the Parks Section of Salisbury City Council and the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust and always welcome additional help.

The Friends are friendly and if you share their aims and would be willing to help achieve them, you will always be welcome at any of their working days or meetings. Please feel free to browse this site further for more information, using the index in the left column.

IF YOU THINK YOU MIGHT LIKE TO VOLUNTEER TO HELP - BE THAT ONCE ONLY, OR OCCASIONALLY, OR AS OFTEN AS YOU LIKE - PLEASE GET IN TOUCH TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT HOW YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO HELP AS A VOLUNTEER.
