Skittles 2011
Barbecue with skittles evening: Lorna Kingdon saw everyone in at the door for a real fun evening. Barry Pritchard as MC kept the evening lively and Martyn Fry attended to the skittles and kept an eye on the scores. Peter and Janice Ford looked after the bar and Lin Shrapnell sold tickets for the raffle. A first class supper was produced by Arthur King on his barbecue and Ivy Spicer, Julie Hardwick and Marjorie King served the salads which were made by Maria Pennington, Janice Ford, Marjorie King and Sheila Futcher. Pat Hewett won the prize for the highest ladies’ score; George Bayford for the highest men’s score; and Robert Pennington for the highest children’s score and was awarded the pig (a toy one, not a real one!). May we say a big Thank You to Arthur for bringing his barbecue to the village hall and cooking supper for us; to Tony Henbest for transporting the barbecue; to Martyn for purchasing the sausages and the hamburgers; to
Barry, Peter, Janice, Lorna, Lin, Ivy, Julie, Marjorie, Maria and Sheila; to all those who helped set up and clear away afterwards and to everyone who came and supported the evening. We just could not have managed without you.
