The Listening Place

Who is the group for?
This group is suitable for everyone including children.

What does the group aim to achieve?
The group aims to help the clients feel empowered and strong enough to move forward.

How frequent are the sessions?
There are 3 sessions per week but extra appointments can be made as required. These are run every week on the following days and times

  • Monday 5.30 - 7.30
  • Wednesday10am- 12pm
  • Saturdays 10am-12am

      This is excluding bank holidays.

What happens at this group
This is one on one based. The clients can speak about all there problems whilst the trained trainer sits and listens. Where the clients is a child, an adult known to them and a person with an enhance CRB check must be present as well as the trained listener.

Is a particular programme used?
Technique in active listening is used.

Who runs this group?
This group is run by volunteers who are qalified in active listening plus (minimum 45 hours training) by Acorn Christian foundation (Whitehill Chase, Borden Hampshire) plus ongoing training in Anger Management, Child Protection, Paranormal and Bereavement.
