2009 NEW Salisbury Area Board

Salisbury now has an Area Board, where Wiltshire Council councillors in Salisbury can direct the council services in the city to best meet local needs.

Area boards are a key part of the decision making structure of Wiltshire Council and seek to ensure that decisions about local issues are made locally. These new style meetings will identify issues of local concern and respond quickly and effectively with practical action.

Feeding issues into the Board will be the Community Area Partnership, a wider group of local people, organisations and community groups.

Opportunity to make a difference
I am delighted to be the Chair of this new Board. It is a real opportunity for us in Salisbury to come together and tackle the issues which none of us can solve on our own. I look forward to working with members of the public, churches, voluntary organisations, police, fire, health and anyone who takes the time to come, to make a lasting difference to our community.

"How can I get involved?"
Do please raise issues through the Community Area Partnership or come along to a meeting of the Area Board and have your say.

For more information, contact Marianna Dodd, Salisbury Community Area Manager, on 07919 881174 or marianna.dodd@wiltshire.gov.uk.
