New Orleans Z'hulus - April 2012

Apex Jazzmen - July 2012
Having to compete with both the Swanage and Marlborough jazz festivals attendance was understandably lower than usual this month but still included some new faces. Peter Wilkinson - leader & trumpet. Bernie Murtha - clarinet. Richard Lonnon - trombone (depping for Win). Doug Kennedy - banjo. Ray Goold - bass. John Hall - drums.

Delta Jazz Band - November 2012
This was the band's last UK appearance before disbanding but we are sure to see each of them in other bands in the future. Tony O'Sullivan - trumpet. Andy Maynard - banjo. John Sirett - bass. George Tidiman - trombone. Colin Bowden - drums. Terry Giles - clarinet & sax.

Colin Kingwell's Jazz Bandits - August 9th 2013
This was the band's first appearance at the club. Chez Chesterman depped for the band's regular trumpet player John Lawrence who, sadly, has had to stop playing for a while. Colin Kingwell - leader & trombone; Ron Rumbol - reeds; Malc Murphy - drums; Peter Brooks - string bass and Dave Fawcett - banjo.

Solent City Jazzmen - September 2013
Solent City Jazzmen gallantly replaced the Algiers Stompers at extremely short notice (4pm on the day!) and provided one of the best nights of jazz your webmaster (or should it be webmistress?) has heard and danced to for a very long time.Cuff Billet - trumpet; John Wiseman - trombone; John Lawes - clarinet; Ray Goold - leader & string bass; Doug Kennedy - banjo and John Hall - drums.

Solent City Jazzmen - July 2014
A welcome return to the club by Solent City Jazzmen who kept the dancers on the floor all night. Regulars Cuff Billett (tpt); John Wiseman (tmb); John Lawes (clt) and Doug Kennedy (bjo). Guests this evening were George Marsh (pno) and the wonderful Malc Murphy (drms).

Millenium Eagle Jazz Band - September 12th
A very entertaining Millenium Eagle Jazz Band played to an appreciative audience on Friday. A huge bonus was to have Jools Aldridge in the band. One of the original members of Millenium Eagle Jools is a very talented and much sought after drummer.Matt Palmer - leader, clarinet, soprano sax, alto sax, tenor sax; Peter Brown - trumpet, cornet, valve trombone; Terry Williams - slide trombone; Chris Etherington - banjo; Brian Lawrence - string bass, sousaphone. A seven piece Dixieland band who played a very lively, and rather loud, programme to a large crowd. Tim Eyles' Gentlemen of Jazz - April 10th 2015
This was the band's first appearance at SJC. Lots of tunes not heard at the club before almost all of which were accompanied by vocals. A mix of some good blues, a handful of jazz standards and 'popular' tunes.
