Shine Befriending

Salisbury Baptist Church provides the Shine befriending scheme to anyone who is lonely and needs a friend in Salisbury.

Who runs the group
Alison Butterfield, Shine development Co- ordinator, with volunteers who have completed a 'Befriending' course.

What are the aims of the group?
Shine aims to provide a brfriending service isolated people, so breaking the cycle of lonliness in Salisbury.

What happens within the group?
The befriender may visit in the home if the befriendee is not mobile, but prefer to meet out of the home; for a walk, coffee, shopping etc.

Where and when?
Befrienders visit once a week and visits are arranged between the befriender and befriendee.

Are all helpers CRB checked? Yes
