I was elected to District Council in May 2007. I now serve on the following Salisbury Council Committees; • Full Council - Member • Resources Overview and Scrutiny Panel - Member • Community and Housing Overview and Scrutiny Panel - Member • Southern Area Committee - Member • Licensing Committee - Member • Audit Committee - Member • Southern Area Licensing Sub- Committee – Member • Brian Whitehead Sports Centre Ltd. – rep. Downton Parish Council Millennium Green.- rep. Amenities committee. Finance committee.

Downton Leisure Centre Downton Sports Centre. I have been seriously connected with it since 1992. Later I became Chairman of BWSCA Ltd. In this present time it as become more difficult to secure its future financially.This is due to it relying on concession from SDC, which finishes in 2009, when the Council changes to unitary, when Wiltshire becomes one Council.

The Parish council will be facing some changes. Beacon Management who operate the Sports centre also organizes Triathlons, Duathlons and marathons. Under Racenewforest’.

Heart Break Half Marathon, Sunday 25 January 2009 Start at 10am at Sandy Balls, Nr. Fordingbridge, Hampshire.

16th January 2009, Downton Sports Centre are holding an event to raise funds for Water Aid Charity. Two employees are doing a Marathon equivalent on gym equipment of 6 hrs each.
