Whats On
The Wiltshire Scrapstore and Resource Centre is a registered Charity (1077193). We are based in Lacock near Chippenham (Unit 5, Griffin Farm, Bowden Hill, Lacock, SN15 2PP), but cover the whole of Wiltshire and surrounding areas. Our main aim is to promote learning through creative play, or craft activity. Our Scrapstore is open to members – it is easy to join and costs just £15.00 for a year or £2.50 each time you visit. We ask for an average donation of between £5 - £8 per sack of scrap taken. Please note that the Scrapstore is a warehouse environment and therefore any children must be accompanied by a parent / guardian and they will be their responsibility for the whole time.
The Scrapstore: We collect scrap materials from local businesses, anything that would normally go into landfill but is safe to use in creative work. This works well because it reduces waste and it helps groups to spread their budget further by offering low cost alternatives for craft projects. It also helps to educate children and young people about reuse and recycling. We run regular Outreach sessions throughout Wiltshire, where we bring the scrap out to members who find the Centre a little too far away to travel to on a regular basis. These sessions are usually accompanied by a Trainer who will do an activity with the under 5’s who attend.
Other resources available: • A Craft Shop - offering competitively priced art and craft supplies to members. • Hire service – we have badge machines available for annual members to hire. • Creative Parties – we provide birthday parties based on your chosen theme for up to 15 children. • Training Room – we run craft workshops and training sessions, and our Training Room is also available to hire for meetings. • Outreach Service – we visit places around the whole of Wiltshire each month, bringing our Scrapstore and a trainer running an activity for the under 5’s. • Early Years Resource Boxes – available for anyone who works with children under 5 in Wiltshire.
