The Wiltshire Ornithological Society was set up in 1974. the objectives are:-

a) to encourage, facilitate and pursue the study, recording and conservation of the birds of Wiltshire;

b) to publish certain of its recorded findings;

c) to co-operate with similar bodies, both local and national, in the foregoing objects.
