The Wiltshire Contact Centre is a three year project sponsored by the Community Legal Service. Its aim is to extend the work of Citizens Advice Bureaux in Wiltshire using communication and information technology to provide the following facilities: - an e-mail advice service via the website - telephone advice through first contact text messaging - website access to advice with links to other advice providers - chatroom sessions on advice topics
The project has a number of objectives: - to improve access to information and advice in targeted rural communities - to promote e-mail advice, especially to those with restricted mobility - to provide advice and information to young people - to encourage effective referral among advice service providers. While the project aims to deliver and extend advice service provision it is also concerned to explore, monitor and report on new approaches to advice service delivery.
