New Councillors Guide
Staff in the Council's Democratic Services Unit are in the process of finalising a brand new Councillors Guide for 2005/06. The 8 page colour guide will feature: - a brief introduction to the the Council's committee structure;
- a ward map showing the area committees;
- photos and contact details for all local councillors arranged by ward.
The guide will be made available widely throughout South Wiltshire in the Spring. The guide is free and does not cost local taxpayers a penny - all costs being met from advertising. This guide is part of the council's continuing commitment to improve accessibility and public participation. Other initiatives planned include the opportunity for councillors to set up their own dedicated websites using the South Wiltshire Community Web. Councillors wishing to take up this opportunity will be assisted by staff in the Democratic Services Team who will
provided a pre-built site to which members may add content - full training will be provided.
