Are you interested in making a
difference?
Do you like to get involved?
Do you care what happens in your
community?
Opportunities will soon exist to help
shape the future of South Wiltshire.
So if the above sounds like you, then
you sound like the right person to
stand as a candidate at the District
Council elections to be held on 3 May.
To find out more, why not come along
to the Guildhall for an informal
seminar on Wednesday 7 March from
6.30pm to 9.00pm? Existing Councillors
and senior Council officers will be on
hand to answer your questions, and
will provide you with all the
information you need about the
electoral process, and what it’s like
being a District Councillor and
performing the various roles involved.
Salisbury District Council is
committed to Equal Opportunities.
Expressions of interest are especially
welcomed from those groups under-
represented on our Council at present.
No academic qualifications are
necessary and training will be
provided.
To stand as a candidate you must be a
British Citizen, a citizen of the
Republic of Ireland or a Citizen of a
European Union State and be 18 years
of age on 3 May 2007 and not be
disqualified from standing for
election. In addition you must satisfy
one of the following requirements: be
a registered elector in the District,
own or rent property in the District,
or live or work in the District.
