Jan 2012 We are so excited to have been chosen as one of Salisbury City Council's projects to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee
The other wall of the Milford Street Bridge will be painted with another beautiful mural. The theme will be how Salisbury people have celebrated Royal Events. We want to hear all about your street parties, picnics or parties! We will be gathering your stories at a memory day in April (date to be confirmed). We will also be doing some research to find out about Royal Celebrations from earlier times.
The design for the mural will come from local peoples' stories, and we are really keen that everyone has chance to see and comment on the design before it is painted (which will start in July)
Other news
We have applied for funding to create education packs for local schools to enable them to really utilise all of the research and information from our oral
history. This will be a really fun, informative way for our children to learn about local history, and will ensure that all the hard work we did has a longer life!
