The quiet village of Mylor is situated just North of the sailing centre of Falmouth. Dominated by it's harbour, the village revolves around sailing and is an ideal location for a short holiday. The small building of the RSC (Royal Sailing Club) is always bustling. In the RSC there are toilets, hot showers and a large changing room.
After launching your boat off the beach, you can either sail up the Carrick Roads to Feock, or sail down towards the sea past Falmouth and then when in the open sea, sail around Falmouth Bay.However for those who just wish to sail in the estuary there is a huge sailing area there alone. The wind is very reliable when onshore especially, and often is quite strong. The estuary is, however, very safe and the Windsports speedboats are always there to help out if you get into trouble.
Lessons are easily booked through Windsports International and the young instructors from Truro College are excellent and fun. There is a range of boats available from Picos to Laser 2000s and they can be rented with or without an instructor. Windsports also repairs boats and replaces parts.
If caught hungry on the water one can come in and go to the excellent Mylor pub. Windsports also offers Land Yachting days up on a nearby airstrip in case you get bored of sailing.
Mylor is an ideal, fairly unspoilt village for a relaxed sailing holiday, where you can also have alot of fun. The sailing area is huge and is ideal for any level of sailor.
