More of the same. Seemingly there are
readers out there! It was mention of the
Community Charge that produced my best
response so far. The question asked was
‘What did Tisbury’s 12.5 % raise in the
Parish Precept, amount to’?
Well it was all to be found in the book
the SDC sent out with the Demand. This
extra money amounted to £2,500. That
is over 59.6% of West Tisbury’s total
Precept.
The Tisbury Precept for 2005/6 was £20,000
That of West Tisbury £ 4,194
The Tisbury Precept for 2006/7 is £22,500
That of West Tisbury is still
£ 4,194
Our increase hopefully does not arise
through profligacy; it is probably due
to the fact that Tisbury Parish Pays for
all the services that West Tisbury
shares. Of course the West Tisbury
Parish Council has no wish to amalgamate
with Tisbury, We are effectively bank
rolling those shared services to the
tune of £18,306.
West Tisbury is one thing, but surely
Tisbury Parish Council might at least
attempt to regularise things financially
by showing enthusiasm for the
amalgamation of the Parishes.
The Trusty Postman brings news of the
Phase Two Housing Allocation for Tisbury.
This refers to both,
Hindon Lane, and Station Works.
A Meeting of the Salisbury District
Council’s CABINET should come to a
decision on these matters on June 7th.
The Planning Officer’s Proposals will be
published at
http://www.salisbury.gov.uk/council/committees/cabinet
on Wednesday May 31st 2006.
If the future of Station Works as a
place of employment concerns you, or
you have views about Hindon Lane; may
one suggest you first view the
proposals, and then pass your comments
to the Council?
Losing Station Works would be nothing
short of a disaster for the Village.
