Graham works in pastel on sandpaper. He regards it as the ideal medium for developmental painting because the image can be modified so easily until the best solution is found. Its versitility enabels a wide range of stylistic possibilties and surface finishes.
His current landscapes explore the expressive qualities of colour and light. Abstracted rythms and patterns become part of the composition and mark making is increasingly spontaneous.
Graham has led classes for fourteen years in his gallery, together with concentrated weeks in adult education centres, such as Higham Hall, Cumbria. He offers individual attention and painting demonstrations.
