About Cllr Dr James Robertson

Image 1 for About Cllr Dr James Robertson I've lived in Salisbury since 1974. My wife Beth and I both come from Second World War Service families. I lost my father, a naval surgeon, at sea, probably why I too became a medic.

Beth also trained as a physician in general practice. Both our mothers worked full time for the NHS as community midwives.

Image 2 for About Cllr Dr James Robertson I served in the NHS as a physician specialising in rheumatology and disability. I worked with the Wessex Rehabilitation Association which founded the Glanville Centre for burns and medical engineering at Salisbury District Hospital. I am President of the South Wilts Fibromyalgia Association, and founded the national multidisciplinary Tissue Viability Society and its journal. I was a founder secretary for the Society for Research in Rehabilitation, and have worked in engineering on development of medical equipment.

I am a lifetime member of the Faculty of Medicine at Southampton University.

I have always supported the Liberal and the Lib-Dems, and I have been a Salisbury District Cllr for 2 years. My responsibilities include Environmental Health and Waste collection.
