Brief History of Bowls
Lawn Bowls Was thought to have orriginally been a french game that was bought to England when the normans invaded in 1066. However the oldest bowls green in England is in Southampton that dates back to at least 1299. The first set of rules where bought in in 1511. In the 1840s the game flourished in Scotland where another set of rules where enforced. These rules have been changed very little compared to the rules now a days.
