Mayors Appeal

The Mayor's Appeal for 2009 is Children's Chance.

Childrens Chance – aims to provide recreational, cultural and educational opportunities to children within a thirty-mile radius of Salisbury Cathedral with a preference for children within the city of Salisbury who would not otherwise be able to access such activities.

Childrens Chance is a Salisbury charity that aims to give children the opportunity to take part in ordinary activities that would otherwise for financial reasons, be denied them. If parents have been made redundant, are disabled or ill, widowed, qualify for income support, are a lone parent, or simply live on a low income then Childrens Chance can help.

Childrens Chance is an entirely voluntary charity and by giving to the charity you will directly be contributing to making a child happy.

Perhaps a child in a home or in foster care will have a chance to fulfil a simple dream, such as to ride a horse or go to the theatre. For others it may be the opportunity to nurture a real talent or it may help prevent social exclusion for young people with behavioural difficulties ~ our aim is to make the Salisbury region a place where every child can at least have a chance.
