Bourne Valley Traffic protest – one year on

Bourne Valley Traffic protest – one year on

This time last year Robert Key MP called a public meeting so local residents could hold to account local Councillors, highway officials and police for the state of roads and traffic on the A338 through the village communities.

One year on they will report back at the request of Robert Key.

On Friday 26th September at 6.30pm in The Glebe Hall, Winterbourne Earls, Robert Key will introduce the Leader of Wiltshire County Council, Cllr Jane Scott, together with highway officials and local police.

Robert Key said, “The volume and speed of traffic through the valley has increased and people want to know what is now planned to improve safety and quality of life.

“Three things have changed since last year. Traffic has increased with the expansion of employment at Porton Down. The Government has cancelled the dualling of the A303 past Stonehenge. Plans for a massive new freight distribution centre at Andover are still on track. People need to know what is going on and what our local government, soon to be reformed, is doing to protect and promote the interests of residents and local taxpayers.”
