SARUM TRIATHLETES CLUB

We are a Triathlon Club based in Salisbury. Sarum Triathletes are a group of interested athletes keen on putting themselves to the test by competing in races of all distances from novice to Olympic distance. Sarum is a friendly club, everyone supports each other. Tips & advice are shared & we all encourage each other at training & races. We meet on Sundays at 10.00 am for cycling at Salisbury Leisure Centre all year round (meet by the 1st speed bump at car park entrance) come along and bring a friend...all welcome.

WE ARE AFFILIATED TO THE BRITISH TRIATHLON ASSOCIATION(BTA)NOW KNOWN AS BRITISH TRIATHLON FEDERATION (BTF)

Triathlon is a race of three disciplines:

Swimming
Cycling
Running.
Distances vary from short novice events to longer Olympic distances. competitors train to their own level & enter races to suit. A typical novice event would be perhaps a - 200m swim/20km cycle/3km run but race distances do vary. There are races to suit all levels of fitness. Equipment does not have to be expensive, all you need is:

Swimsuit & Goggles
Any bike & helmet
Running shoes
Shorts & vest.

All age groups are catered for...you are never too old.
There are races all over the country every week throughout the season from April - October (there are plenty in the south). Local area races are at Salisbury, Winchester, Ringwood, Marlborough, Southampton, Bournemouth & Blandford just to mention a few, go to conceptsport.co.uk for more details. Triathlon is a friendly sport where you are not looked down upon just because you are not as fast as the next man or woman. You race to your own standards.
