Welcome to the Downton Buildings Archive website.

Downton is a large English village located in the Avon valley, on the border between Wiltshire and Hampshire, six miles south of Salisbury. The aim of this site is to record as much information about the buildings and other physical features located within the modern Parish of Downton as possible.

This site is operated with the agreement of the Downton Museum and Archive, which aims to record, preserve and exhibit various aspects and artefacts of village history. Please contact me if you would like more information about the project.

I somehow managed to wipe out the original page of resources that I had put on this site, they included the books by David Waymouth (7000 Years In An English Village) and Ed Green (Downton And The First World War) and a ton of other stuff.
