Charlton House

Formerly a grade III listed building. Former listing description: C18.

The following outbuildings at Charlton House are grade II listed buildings in their own right:

Barn and sheltershed to south of Charlton House – upgraded from grade III
Listing description: Barn. Late C18. Weatherboarding on timber-frame with English bond brick plinth, half-hipped tiled roof. 5 bays with weatherboarded outshuts on north side. North transept has half-hipped roof and double planked doors, outshuts have planked doors. South side has planked double doors. Roof has tie-beam braced to main posts with two pairs of queen posts to purlins, lower tier of purlins with straight wind bracing to centre bay. C18 sheltershed attached to north-east of barn, has open front facing fold yard; wooden posts, weatherboarded rear and sides, and tiled roof.

Granary to south-west of Charlton House
Listing description: Granary. Late C18. Weatherboarding on timber-frame, on staddlestones, half-hipped tiled roof. 3 bays. Double planked doors on east and west sides, with strap hinges. Roof has tie-beam braced to main posts with raking struts to collar, straight wind bracing to purlins in centre bay.
