Summer Fayre 2009

Summer in West Grimstead : A great many people came to the Village Hall for our summer fayre. Terry Moore had set up her table outside and, as people arrived, they were by welcomed by a display of her beautiful hanging baskets, plants and shrubs. Inside the Village Hall, there were sales tables for patchwork quilts and cushions, hand-made jewellery, home-made cakes, preserves and pickles, bric-a-brac, creative cards, paintings and cards, and items produced by Alderbury and Whaddon Local History Group. Debbie Fenlon encouraged people to have a go to at pinning the tail on the donkey which was won by Ray Nash. Betty Barnett sold tickets for a selection of lovely prizes, and Barbara Lowe and Trisha Woodley were kept busy selling refreshments which included delicious scones and tray bakes made by Barbara and Angela Christie. Lorna Kingdon looked after the door and Peter Ford took photos for the photo résumé. The Hall was decorated with bunting and balloons and everyone agreed it had been a very enjoyable occasion. May we say a big Thank You to everyone involved. As always, your support was very much appreciated.
