SOCIETY CONSTITUTION

CONSTITUTION OF REDLYNCH & DISTRICT LOCAL HISTORY SOCIETY

NAME
The name shall be the Redlynch and District Local History Society

AIM
The aim of the Socviety shall be to promote local history in the Redlynch area.

MEMBERSHIP
Membership shall be open to individuals concerned with local history in the area.

MEETINGS
The Society shall meet regularly. At an Annual General Meeting in October the Membership shall receive the audit accounts and elect from its number a committee to conduct the affairs of the Society. A quorum of a General Meeting shall be 10% of its membership. The committee shall consist of a Chairman, a Secretary, a Treasurer and a minimum of four other members. The committee is empowered to co-opt further individuals. The committee shall meet not less than twice a year. A quorum of the committee shall be five.

SUBSCRIPTIONS
Such annual subscriptions as may from time to time be determined at an Annual General Meeting shall be paid by members.

DISSOLUTION
The Society may at any time be dissolved by a resolution passed by not less than two thirds of the votes cast at a general meeting of the Society, at which at least twenty-one clear days notice in writing shall have been sent to all members. Such a resolution may give instructions for the disposal of any assets held by or in the name of the Society.

REVIEW OF THE CONSTITUTION
The Society’s constitution shall be reviewed by the membership not less than three years after the ate of its adoption.
