Welcome to South Wiltshire's planning and licensing website. It is being jointly developed by Salisbury and West Dorset District Council and Dorset and Wiltshire County Councils. Development work has been assisted with funding from the Government's Invest to Save Budget, which assists local authorities to e.enable their services by 2005.

The project team's first major target has been to enable people to view current planning applications 'on line'. The aim has been to upload all planning applications submitted to the two district councils from 1st January 2003 and make them available for viewing .

This is seen as a substantial major step, bringing considerable benefits to customers. Further development aims to allow customers to e.mail their comments on planning applications and ultimately to have all background papers to a planning application viewable.
