Wareham family aristocratic ancestry

One branch of the Wareham ancestry links back to the royal line of England. The Wareham history spreadsheet on the 'Wareham family tree' page shows the links to the Blachford family and through this root we probably link to a number of royal pedigree families. I do not claim absolute proof of any of this as the further and further back in time one goes one cannot be confident of the bloodline or sources. But this is based on various sources, some better than others, and tells and interesting story. It possibly links the Wareham family back to the Plantagenet, Norman and Anglo Saxon royals of England, to the royals of Europe, the Vikings and even speculation of a link to the late Roman Empire. Whilst far from being a royalist myself being able to trace one branch of ones roots back to certain famous individuals helps history come alive. It is also an unfortunate fact that the stories of individual commoner families of England are not so well told before modern history and so to generally to be able to reach back further than the 16th/17th century one does have to rely on being able to link back further through those whose stories are recorded. Please note that these lines go through the assumed marriage of John Skylling to Alina Gifford (daughter of Sir William Gifford and Eleanor Paulet). This marriage and subsequent offsping has not been proven. However regarding the Plantagenet and Anglo Saxon lineage this is confirmed through the Blachford Coat of Arms produced at the Visitations of London 1633. However the Montague ancestral line has yet ti be clarified at this time.
