The Infants Bench
Not to be outdone by the Juniors, the Infant School also ran a competition for the design, manufacture and painting of a bench to call their own. Quite a lot of paint went in quite a few places other than on the bench, but this is the end product during installation. The bench is located towards the bottom of the steps leading from the top of the Slope towards the Allotment area. Why not try it for size sometime?

The bench is testimony to the effort and interest shown by the staff and pupils of the Infants' School in support of their local environment, and of the role of the Friends of Harnham Slope in promoting community interest and involvement in the care, maintenance and management of Harnham Slope. It just goes to show that everyone can play a part - young or old.
