Forest School Of Dance And Theatre Arts

I would like to welcome you to the, "Forest School Of Dance And Theatre Arts", Web site. I would also like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and give you the chance to learn a little more about me.

I have lived locally all my life and started my dance training at the age of three with, The Pat Britton School of Dance in Fordingbridge. At six years old I started dancing at the Stage Door School of Dance and Drama, in Bournemouth, where I was able to study dance in more depth. Whilst at the Stage Door, I got the opportunity to dance in many professional pantomimes at the Bournemouth Pavilion, to take part in the dance and music festivals in Bournemouth and Basingstoke, and also to compete in the I.S.T.D Ballet awards in London.

After completeing school I started a three year full time course for teachers and performers at the Stage Door School of Dance and Drama, with Maureen Headford, F.I.S.T.D. Over the three years I gained my teaching associates in Ballet, Modern, Tap and National. I also studied Drama, Singing and Flamenco.

As well as training to be a teacher I also danced in the colleges' caberet group, we danced at various venues around the south coast, from the Holiday Exhibition at the B.I.C. to private functions and parties. I also danced in professional pantomimes, this time as a senior dancer, at the Poole Arts Centre.

After finishing college, I taught full- time for a year at the Fitzell- Roberts School of Dance and Theatre Arts, Southampton. I then successfully auditioned for Disneyland Paris, where I danced in a U.V. light show "Animagique" that opened at the Walt Disney Studios.

In September 2002 I opened the "Forest School Of Dance And Theatre Arts"
