Whats On
The club as it is today was founded in 2002 as part of the Chalke Valley sports initiative. It was formed by amalgamating the three established valley clubs; Ebbesbourne, Bishopstone and Broadchalke. Currently it has three teams; the first team play in the Salisbury & District League Division One with the reserves in Division Three. The third side play on Sundays in the Salisbury & District League Division Two. In the short term the aim was to consolidate and establish the club with aspirations to progress the first team upwards to a higher standard of football.
Players of all ages and ability are most welcome. At present we have players that range in age from their mid forties down to 15 years of age. We also have ‘masters’ football on Tuesday evenings for the over 40’s from 7pm to 8.30pm – this is when you can witness real soccer!
Facilities at the Chalke Valley Sports Centre are second to none in the local area and in fact Nick Holmes, current manager of Salisbury City, remarked that most clubs in the South of England would be envious. Changing rooms are spacious and warm with en- suite showers (Referees have their own private room and shower). There are full Bar and catering facilities for after match socialising complete with TV.
None of the above would be used if it were not for the kindness of our sponsors; The Queens Head, Broadchalke and Alliance Packaging. To both organisations a big thank you.
Training takes place year round on Thursday evenings beginning at 7.30pm. During the winter months the floodlit enclosed multi user games area is utilised with training on grass throughout the lighter evenings.
So whatever your level, beginner or professional, we will make you most welcome. If you are interested in playing, feel you may have something to contribute on the coaching front or just wish to be a social participant, please contact General Manager, Ian Newman on 01725 552516 or email steve_chalk@hotmail.com.
