Clinics and Health Promotion

Monday 1.30pm - 3.00pm, with the Health Visitors - no appointment needed.

Childhood Immunisation
Monday 2.00pm - 3.30pm, with the Practice Nurse. Invitations sent, but if you think one is overdue, please ask.

Child Development Clinic
All babies have a check at 6 weeks with the doctor. Routine checks are done after this if there are medical problems - otherwise the health visitors send a yellow birthday card at age 1,2,3 and 4 years, and an appointment is made if there are any particular concerns.

Ante-Natal Clinic
Thursday 1.00pm - 4.00pm with the Midwife, by appointment. Please ask for separate leaflet on antenatal care.

Family Planning and Contraception
Confidential advice is always available from the doctors or practice nurses. Teenagers welcome.

Cervical Smears
By appointment with the doctor or practice nurse: every 3 years for women from the age of 25, and every 5 years for women aged 50-65, unless advised otherwise.

Health Screening for New Patients
A basic health check is offered to all new patients over the age of 16, by appointment with the Practice Nurse.

Three Yearly Health Check
All adults are welcome to a basic health check (especially blood pressure and weight) at three yearly intervals if they wish.

Annual Check-up for Over 75's
The Practice Nurse offers a check-up for all patients over 75 years in the surgery.

Health Promotion Activities
Advice on weight reduction, safe drinking; stopping smoking, sensible exercise reducing the risk of heart disease is available appointment with the Practice Nurse.

Asthma and Diabetes

Special clinics are held for those with asthma, diabetes, and regular check-ups are advised. Please ask at reception.

Minor Surgery
Simple procedures such as joint infections and the removal of cysts and skin lesions are done in the surgery. Please see Dr Jameson.
